Petrol Volkswagen Touareg: what changes with a remap

With a petrol engine the remap works through the ECU's ignition, fuelling and turbo boost tables. Re-calibrating them within safe limits releases power that is already there, rather than adding anything to the engine.

Of the 6 petrol Touareg engines in our data, this one comes 6th for power gain, which is 4 bhp below the Touareg petrol average of 27 bhp.

Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 23 bhp and 40 Nm sits below that benchmark.
